Sunny Sunday with waves
Hello Friends,
Lots of folk in the water by 0830 this morning. Waves looked to be in the waist-high range and a light NNE breeze was just starting to texture the surface. At 0600 the MHL buoy was seeing 1.3 metres of 6-sec NE wind swell and recording a water temp of 21.9 C. Tide was heading to a swampy 2.07 m high at 0940.
The wind will pick up soon, 10-15 kts from the NE, so the best conditions will, as usual, be early.
Outlook is for the swell to be similar tomorrow, but getting smaller by Tuesday.
Have a great Sunday.
Weather Situation
A high in the Tasman Sea maintains a ridge over coastal waters, generating fresh northeasterly winds. A trough will brush along the coast later Sunday and Monday, bringing a southerly change to the southern and central waters. Then, winds will turn northerly again as another high pressure system enters the Tasman Sea midweek.
