Dee Why we’re still waiting
Hello Friends,
The southerly arrived around 0430 this morning and by 0800 it was 11-15 kts. At around dusk yesterday, the swell regime switched to the NE and this morning saw 1.4 metres of 7-8 sec wind swell arriving from 60°. As the picture shows, it wasn’t doing Dee Why any favours. A swampy 1.74 metre high tide at 0855 wasn’t helping the cause either.
If you’re really keen to get wet, there should be some waist-plus sets at the better exposures, but the wind promises to be a factor all day.
When will it improve? Well, as usual, I’m keenly awaiting the Goat’s thoughts on the matter. The wind call for the next three days isn’t looking great to me, but maybe he’ll see something later in the week.
Have a top old Thursday everyone!
Weather Situation
A high pressure system will direct fresh to strong northeasterly winds along the northern coast today. A trough will also brush the central coasts today, bringing a south to southeasterly wind change to the southern and central coasts, before stalling about Hunter or Mid North Coast on Friday. Winds tending east to northeasterly again over the weekend as another high moves into the Tasman Sea and a trough lingers about the coast.
