You thought yesterday was marginal

0 3

Hello Friends,

Not a bad looking morning along the Northern Beaches for Monday. The wind was coming lightly from the WSW and had there been any swell, conditions would have been ideal. But, alas, the metre or so mix of SW wind chop and light north bump out at sea was 4-8 seconds apart. As a consequence surf conditions are mostly lake-like. Tomorrow could be a touch bigger but from this morning’s swell models, we’ll need to wait until Thursday for a (very slight) improvement in energy levels. But that’s also when we can expect gloomy weather and south wind. Arggh. The more hopeful weather and swell models were holding out hopes for 2-ish metre, 9-sec east with light offshores for the early around Tuesday next week. So there is that…

Have a good one!

Weather Situation

A trough will move through southern parts this morning, followed by a ridge developing in its wake. Fresh northerly winds will develop later Tuesday as the ridge extends to the Tasman Sea and a high pressure system forms within it. Then, the next trough brushing the southern and central parts of the coast mid to late this week will bring another south to southeasterly wind change in its wake.
