Beautiful just beautiful

Hello Friends,

An absolute stunner of a morning along the beaches as a brisk 16-25 kt WNW wind groomed the incoming mix of short-period (6 seconds) NE and S wind swell. It was 1.6 metres out at the MHL buoy as of 0600, but while there were certainly 1.6 metre wave faces in the mix, the average looked closer to a metre. And, because the swell has such a short period, people were struggling to claw their way into what would often end up as an immediate close-out.

The Bureau tells us that the wind will swing to the south this afternoon (and the swell will jump into the 2-3 metre range), so I’d say the plan is to get your share of the waves sooner rather than later.

Tomorrow is set to start out with south wind and a fading south swell. As the day goes along, the wind is predicted to go to the NE. It could be good at the south magnets. And this morning’s swell models are suggesting we’ll have something surfable on Tuesday and Wednesday as the south magnets stay active.

Have a great Sunday!

South Narrabeen pretty little shutdowns

Near the pole. Kinda weak and junky

Weather Situation

A cold front crossing NSW this morning is forecast to reach the northeast in the middle of the day with strong to gale force southerly winds extending as far north as the Hunter coast. Winds will briefly turn east to northeasterly early next week as another high pressure ridge drifts across the state, then the next cold front will move across the coast on Tuesday through early Wednesday next week, with another southerly wind change after its passage.
