Energy around but
Hello Friends,
Another morning with steady NNW wind and 2 metre, 12-seoncd NE swell. Dee Why looked lumpy but head+ high on the sets. Not the greatest looking quality, but if you’re keen you’re bound to find the odd fun section. That said, when I stopped by Dee Why this morning, no one was bothering with the point, nor was there anyone in the water from the south end to north of the Dee Why lagoon entrance. The only people waiting on waves were at Longy. And they were doing a lot of waiting. There’s plenty of energy, but it’s weird and fat looking everywhere from Manly to Dee Why (and beyond no doubt).
Tide’s currently coming in to the 1.5 metre high at 1045, so that’s probably a factor.
Weather’s set to be 22 and partly cloudy. Water’s warmed up to 19 and Beachwatch says pollution’s unlikely at Dee Why.
This morning’s swell models continue to show good prospects for surf for the coming week (although Saturday may be iffy ahead of a new south pulse).
Weather Situation
West to northwesterly winds will strengthen today as a cold front approaches from the west with winds turning westerly from the afternoon as the cold front crosses coastal waters. Winds will remain westerly from Thursday to Friday, with a second cold front crossing coastal waters late Friday bringing strong southwesterly winds in its wake. Winds will weaken from Sunday as a ridge builds over the NSW coast.
