Smooth and small this morning

Another showery day ahead according to the Bureau, but there were nice sunny breaks this morning. Swell continues to fade. It was 1.6 metres at 11 seconds from the SE as of 0900 and that, combined with a high tide at 0935, was translating into knee to waist-plus moments here and there along the beaches. Conditions were looking pretty attractive. Beachwatch says the water quality’s improved too.
Outlook is for the surf conditions to be similar to a bit smaller compared today’s offerings for another few days as swell bumbles around the metre mark and periods dip into the 7-9 second range. The good news is that the swell models continue to show another 2-2.5 metre SSE pulse lined up for the front half of next week.

A high south of Tasmania is extending a ridge over the NSW coast, bringing south to southeasterly winds. Winds will generally remain southwesterly to south easterly through the week as the ridge persists, briefly turning northerly on Tuesday and Wednesday along the south coast ahead of a weak cold front.
