Matt Holder from Reflex Films Australia has crafted an incredible slow-motion edit, blending stunning drone shots with dynamic land-based footage from the WWT Margaret River Pro. Sit back, slow down, and prepare to be captivated by some truly breath-taking action.
Matt Holder: “Back in Feb, I was given the privilege of covering the IWT Margaret River Pro- the event video tend to be documentary style, with real time footage and audio and the story of the event being the main focus.
I really wanted to do something creative with the fantastic shots we had from my tripod shots and especially FROM hiring Paul VanBellen- and lucky for us he shot some 2x and 4x slow motion from the drone.
And with Apple’s M4 Chips / machine learning frame interpolation I knew I could push some of this footage even further in the slow motion department. As far as 400 -500 frames per second on some of these shots
So here we have ULTRA slow motion windsurf wave sailing from Margaret River in Feb 2025
Armed with some world class wave sailors, a dystopian song (“Spitting on the edge of the World” – by the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s) and some 4k reframing
This is the result.
