There will be waves
Hello Friends,
At 0600 the wind was coming lightly from the west at 6-7 kts, while out at sea an hour earlier, the MHL buoy was registering 2 metres of 11-second SE swell. That was roughly half the size we saw yesterday, but not exactly flat either. Set wave faces were into the head-high plus range at the better exposures. So it shouldn’t be too hectic for the Jack McCoy paddle-out at 1pm at South Palmy.
The first tide of the day is the low at 0940.
The energy levels will continue their steady decline toward what looks to be near flatness by mid-week. But it looks like being a slow ebb too, so I’m hopeful of small but surfable conditions into Monday.
Forecast issued at 4:10 am EST on Saturday 5 July 2025.
Weather Situation
A weak ridge of high pressure is moving across New South Wales. Over the weekend, a weakened trough and associated front are expected to move across the state. This will be followed by a stronger cold front mid-week bringing a return to gusty winter westerlies.
