Hello Friends,
As of 0700 the MHL buoy was seeing 3.6 metres of 13-second SSE swell and at 0830 the wind was 10-13 kts from the west. Conditions were clean at Dee Why and wave faces were getting into the shoulder to head-plus range, but it certainly wasn’t 3.6 metres. That said, there’s a lot of energy in the system and given that peak swell heights out at sea were hitting the 5+ metre mark as of 0830, it is not a morning for beginners.
How quickly will it fade out? Well, it looks to me as though it should still be solid at the south magnets for a couple of days, but I’m keen to see what the Mighty Goat says in his Thursday week-ahead outlook. So check back later to find out what he thinks…
Go well with your day!
Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Bight is extending a ridge along the NSW coast while a deep low pressure system lies over the Southern Tasman, bringing fresh to strong southwesterly winds to the coast. The low contracts away to the east and the ridge will persist, winds turning south to southwesterly and gradually decreasing through the week. Then, winds become easterly as the high slowly moves eastwards, entering the Tasman Sea during the weekend.
