Clean and setty early
Hello Friends,
Sunday kicked off along the beaches with a light NW breeze grooming a 1.5 metre, 11-sec east swell. The first tide of the day was a 1.6 metre high at 0615, so the waves looked a bit fat from RealSurf HQ. There were a few largely unpopulated peaks north from the club, while the point was attended by its usual group of acolytes – ever hopeful of a chest high set.
Best plan is to hit it this morning on the tide run-out and while there are still a few shoulder high bomb sets left in the mix. Tomorrow will see stiff NW wind according to the Bureau, so that, plus a weakening swell, means the morning will be the go.
Wednesday and beyond continues to look promising on the models. If it plays out the way the forecasts predict, it’ll be suitable only for the most experienced and fit riders on Wednesday and Thursday, but maybe from Friday through next weekend it’ll be more accessible to the rest of us.
Go well with your Sunday!
Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure is extending across the north while a cold front approaching to the state from the west is passing to the south, maintaining west to northwesterly winds along the coast. Winds will turn northerly on Monday ahead of a stronger cold front that will cross the coastal waters on Tuesday, with strong to gale-force west to southwesterly wind change and large powerful waves in its wake.
