The Goat’s Surf Forecast
Surf forecast issued Thursday 8 May 2025: Seven day outlook for Sydney
Oh wow it’s hard for TG to keep up with the weather this week..
yesterday.. summer,
this morning.. early autumn, then mid winter..now a nice autumn afternoon..
hold that!.. clouds starting to build again form the South..
But hey that’s Oz for you..
You can’t say our weather is boring, that’s for sure.
(Thursday arvo) The surf has come up as forewarned by the BoM, pushed along by the 30-40 kph breeze from SSE.,, which has just eased back to about 10ks of course,,, no wait,, speeding up again down south.
Currently it’s 3.586 metres from due South according to the offshore MHL waverider buoy, but with a period of 12.14 seconds it’s getting into most places in one messy form or another.
I used to know a guy who said he hibernated from surfing during the winter. Never understood him… now I think I do.
The Surf Outlook
Friday: easing a little but still plenty of push in the upper 1-2 metre range due South spots
Saturday: lower end of the 1-2 metre range, say 1.5 metres or so South East
Sunday: similar, but from the Eastish
Monday: ditto
Tuesday: ditto again
Wednesday: down a little more say around 1 ish or so metres East
Thursday: ditto.
Stay warm, stay well. Have fun!
