Biding our time

0 47

Hello Friends,

Another nice day coming up for Sydney, but there’s almost no energy in the ocean for surfers to play with. Unsurprisingly, the MHL data from 0500 showed 1.2 metres at 6 seconds from the NE. Wind has been blowing from the NNE since late yesterday afternoon and it’s expected to stay that way until around lunchtime when 15-20 kt of S-SE arrives.

The SE wind should stick around until Wednesday, when it will swing NE.

We might see a slight improvement from Thursday, but I’m not jumping up and down. If it’s rideable, I’ll be happy.

Have a good one!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea currently extends a ridge to northeast New South Wales, and is directing east to northeasterly winds over most coastal areas. A trough will move from the south over central parts of the coast this morning and bring a southerly change, before stalling and weakening near Seal Rocks. During Tuesday a new high is forecast to move from the Bight to the Tasman Sea and extend a ridge over eastern New South Wales, bringing a return to east to northeasterly winds by Wednesday. The next trough and southerly change look set to reach southern areas on Friday.
