Sunny and windy

0 0

Hello Friends,

The NE’ly blew through the night and this morning it was 10-20 kts from before 0700. Most places were blown out but there was 2.3 metres of 9-second NE wind swell getting into the semi-protected north corners. If you didn’t mind stiff sideshores, Northy was a possibility, and for more protection, Long Reef shories to the Pole were not waveless (see below).

The Goat should be along later with his prognostications on the near-term surf prospects and as always, I’ll be keen to see what he thinks. I”m hoping early next week will be interesting, particularly Tuesday morning.

Have a great Thursday!

Forecast issued at 4:10 am EDT on Thursday 13 February 2025.

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea, together with a trough along the coast, are bringing onshore northeast to southeasterly winds along the coast. Winds will increase and become northeasterly through the midweek as the trough weakens and the high moves to New Zealand. A cold front and its associated trough will move across the far south coast from Friday, extending along the NSW coast over the weekend, bringing a fresh to strong and gusty southerly change in its wake.
