Wild and woolly

0 2

Hello Friends,
The southerly slammed into Sydney around 0230 this morning and as of 0700 was 20-30 kts. It was raining steadily too. Swell at sea was 3.2 metres, but it was coming from the SSW at only 8 seconds apart, so while there may be smooth-ish conditions in the protected corners, the majority of the energy is headed away from us. Oh, and it’s cold too. Eminently skip-able.

Weather Situation

A strong cold front is moving northwards across central and northern coastal waters today, with northerly winds ahead of it, and a strong and gusty southerly change in its wake. The front may deepen into a coastal trough or low off the northern NSW or southeast Queensland coast from Friday and linger into the weekend, which may see strong and gusty east to southeasterly winds persisting about the north coast. Another high moving into the Tasman Sea on Saturday will see winds shift northerly again along the central and southern parts of the coast.
