Surf forecast issued Thursday 13 June 2024: Seven day outlook for Sydney
Good luck to those who ventured into the water for a dip this morning. Yes TG knows the water was warmer than the air.. but ..
Surf was up today at places open to the South – currently as he puts hoof to keyboard, registering 2.3 metres off Sydney with a 10.8 second period. But it was literally dead flat in corners protected from way too due dead South swell.
The Surf Outlook for a number of days is for large surf, mainly at places that get dead South swell…with a lot of wind behind it..and cold temperatures …from a Low way down south.
Not a happy outlook for beginners, and others may well want to pause and think: Do I really want to…??
Friday: somewhere around 2 – 2+ metres at places open to the South, with cold wind pushing it up
Saturday: similar, or more, ditto
Sunday: up some more with the wind, say around 2-3 metres or more as direction turns slightly South South East
Monday: could be even more, say 4 metres or so at dead South spots
Tuesday: easing back a bit into the 3-4 metre range dead South places
Wednesday: somewhere raound 2-2+ metres dead South
Thursday: easing back into the 1-2 metre range South East
Take care. Stay safe in the surf. If you’re not sure of your capabilities don’t go in.
