Not big but not flat either
Hello Friends,
It was just barely big enough to catch a little rock-runner along the point this morning at Dee Why, but along the beach there were better prospects. Sets looked to be in the waist to chest-high range and a light WNW breeze was only slightly texturing the surface. Out at sea, the swell was 1.5 metres at 9 seconds from the SE. Tide was coming in to the 0800 high when I grabbed this morning’s snaps. It’ll be back to low at 1335, having dropped less than a metre. Skies were partly cloudy as Thursday started, but the Bureau says there is a 100% chance of 15-60 mm of rain.
It’ll continue showery tomorrow and Saturday before getting back to partly cloudy from Sunday onward. If the GFS swell model is accurate, we should see a small increase in swell size tomorrow (shoulder plusses maybe) which should keep the waves coming for the weekend.
Go well and have a great day!
Weather Situation
A trough is currently positioned along the coast of NSW. The trough is anticipated to deepen into a coastal low pressure system today and remain close to the coast on Friday and move away into the Tasman Sea late Saturday. After this, a new high pressure system will move over the coast. The next cold front is expected to reach NSW early next week.
