Head high sets this morning

0 32

Hello Friends,

Yet another beautiful morning with waves for Sydney. I’d call it chest high with the odd bigger one  at Dee Why point and shoulder to head plus along the beach. As you can probably tell from the pictures, the average period is still a long-ish 13 seconds, so that means lots of shutting down walls along the beach. Another good day for the reefs and points. Swell at sea was 1.6 metres from the SE and the wind was 10-12 kts from the west at 0730. Tide was low at 0600 and will be back to the modest 1.3 m high at noon. Weather call is for 22 along the beaches with sunny skies. Water is clean and sitting on 20.

It looks as though we should have at least another couple of days of surf, but the trend is definitely toward the tiny end of the scale by mid-week. Enjoy while you can as it currently looks as though we go back to the showery stuff on Friday as the wind regime takes a southerly tack – and the swell kicks up.

Go well!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system centred over southeastern Australia is slowly drifting eastwards and will reach the Tasman Sea by Wednesday. Winds will become northerly and strengthen during the latter part of the week as a cold front and its associated trough enters the state’s far west on Thursday and heads east. Then the system will move across the coastal waters on Saturday, with a south to southwesterly wind change in the wake.
