Tiny in surftown
Hello Friends,
Wind was out of the south at 8-11 kts by 0730, texturing up the ocean surface and making the tiny 1 metre, 10-sec SSE swell look less than appealing. At Dee Why waves looked to be in the sub-waist high range and not at all consistent. Another day where even low expectations are put to the test.
While there’s no good news for to today’s surf prospects, nor for tomorrow’s, the swell prediction models have become a little more optimistic about this weekend’s surf prospects for the south magnets. If things pan out well for us, we could have 2+ metres of 11-12 second south energy with light onshore breezes for the early on Saturday…
So hang in there and go well with your day!
Weather Situation
A trough over central parts of the coast is weakening as a ridge of high pressure develops along the New South Wales coast. On Wednesday, another trough will move along southern and central parts of the coast, bringing fresh southerly winds. After this, another weak ridge of high pressure is forecast to develop ahead of a southerly change associated with a cold front brushing the southern coast on Friday.
