Sullenly southerly

0 6

Hello Friends,

Are you super keen? You’ll want to be, because although there are sort of little catchable lumps, we had 15-20 kts of southerly under gloomy grey skies to go with them.

Swell at sea was dead south and a solid 3 metres at 10 seconds, but as you can see above, it really wasn’t wrapping into the point. And anywhere north from there was getting smashed by the wind. Beachwatch is rating the water as “pollution unlikely” and says the water is on 23. Not that it matters all that much, but the first tide of the day was a 1.7 metre high at 0640. It’ll be back to low at 1340.

Wind is expected to be lightly onshore easterly for the early tomorrow, plus the swell should me more around to the SE so, although the weather will still be boring grey, there might possibly be a few opportunities of a surfy sort and Wednesday could see a return of sunny skies along with light north wind and ESE wind swell in the meter-ish plus range.

Go well with your day and stay happy!

Weather Situation

A trough of low pressure in the northeast will continue to moves north towards the Queensland border, with strong southerly winds behind the trough gradually easing through the day. After this, southerly winds are forecast to turn north to northeasterly and then increase as a new high pressure system moves to the Tasman Sea.
