Weak, disorganised and small

0 18

Hello Friends,
The ocean was looking lumpy, bumpy and gutless on Sunday morning at Dee Why. Waves were in the knee to thigh high range and wind was coming from the SSW at 10-15 kts as of 0900. The MHL buoy was seeing 2.2 metres of 7-second bump from the SSW along with some even weaker and smaller NE component. Tide was coming into the 2 metre high at 1115. Wind call is for it to gradually come around to the south and to pick up. Meanwhile there’s a 90% chance of showers on the cards for today.
Tomorrow’s looking, if anything, even worse with strong SE wind from first light along with more showers. Swell energy should kick up a little, but given the wind, there will be few, if any places that are both sheltered enough from the wind and able to pick up the 7-8 second period SE wind swell.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure extend from a high near New Zealand, linked to a high in the Great Australian Bight. As the high in the Bight moves east, strengthening onshore winds will develop. By mid-week, the high will transition into the Tasman Sea while a low develops about the southern waters.
