Sweet conditions early
Hello Friends,
Started the surf check run at Manly and can report that the swell’s dialed back noticeably but while it was around waist high at South Steyne, there were still overhead sets up at Queensie. The banks were pretty shutty-downy looking, but of course there were a few makeable ones too. Wind was light westerly, while out at sea, the swell was 2.6 metres from the SE at close to 11-sec. Tide was coming off the 0705 low and filling in to the modest 1.3m high at 1305. Weather should be partly cloudy (it was mostly sunny when I was out and about) as we head to a high of 21. Beachwatch says water’s clean and 21.

Things were a bit more intense at Dee Why where the point was still seeing the solidly overhead set and the beach was a touch bigger than that on the biggest ones. Lots of people in the water, but the shutdown heavy beach had only a few takers (such as this morning’s first pic above).
Weather Situation
Southerly winds and large surf conditions will continue to ease as a high pressure system moves eastwards. The high will become slow moving over the Tasman Sea today, causing winds to tend northerly along the southern coast. A trough is then forecast to bring southerly winds to the southern coast later Friday, reaching central parts on Saturday, where it may linger offshore.
