Showery with waves

0 20

Hello Friends,

A shower was coming through when I stopped for a look at Dee Why this morning around 0800. Swell has picked up a bit too and there were lots of folks in the water. Wind was light and from the west. It’s likely to drift around to the onshore setting as the day goes along, but should remain pretty light for most of the day. Maybe it’s the looming holiday weekend and kids getting out of school for the autumn break. Wave quality wasn’t bad thanks to the 11-second period and 1.5m height of the ENE swell, but the banks are still pretty ordinary most places. There were a couple of people at the point, but apart from one sort of mal-able set, it looked way less productive than the beach.

Tide was just hitting the 1.65 m high when I grabbed the snaps, so as of this writing, it is dropping to the 0.43 m low at 1430. Weather should continue partly cloudy with the odd passing shower as we head to a high of 24.

Outlook is for more of the same tomorrow, but with a south pulse joining in to, hopefully, make a few more peaky sections. Wind should be offshore for the early and NW later.

Go well everyone!
