The early for the clean ones

0 5

Hello Friends,

Definitely a few waves around this morning – and a few of your fellow surfers in amongst ’em too. Set wave faces at best exposures were hitting the shoulder high mark.

If you were in the water before 0700, the wind was coming lightly from the north and the main swell component was 1.8 metres from the NNE with a period of 7 seconds. Tide was coming in after the 0530 low and will peak at 1.5 m around 1135. Skies were clear and are expected to remain that way as we head to a high of 30. The benign breeze of daybreak will steadily build toward 15-25 kts NE by midday-early afternoon.

From early tomorrow morning the Bureau tells us we’ll be heading into a couple of days of southerly winds and grey skies. But, on current reckoning, we should be back to sunshine, morning offshores and even some fun size east wind swell.

Go well with your Saturday!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is bringing east to northeasterly airstream along the coast. Winds will shift to southerly over the weekend as a weak southerly change moves along the southern half of the coast on Saturday, and this change will be reinforced by a low pressure system forming off the north coast on Sunday. Winds will further shift to southeasterly during the latter part of the weekend into early new week as the low quickly moves offshore while a new ridge of high pressure strengthens along the coast.
