Ankle to knee high Saturday morning
Hello Friends,
Stunner of a morning out there but as the pictures show, you have to be in the right spot to even catch one. Most places are in the ankle to knee high range so dial those expectations down. Wind was WNW 5-7 kts at 0700 and swell at sea was 0.8 metres at 9 seconds from the SSE. Tide was coming off the low at 0510 and will hit a very swampy 1.83 m high at 1140. Wind should stay at about the same intensity all day but the Bureau expects the swell to get into the 1.5-2.5 m range by lunch time. As implausible as that may sound, the Eden buoy popped into the 1.75 m range late last night, so maybe… Ocean temp is on 19C and water should be clean pretty much everywhere.
Outlook is for marginal to near flat conditions for the next 7 days.
Meanwhile yours truly will be sending you postcards from the other side of the Pacific as I spend the next month and a bit in California. Surf prospects there are not looking any better than here for the coming week, so oh well!
Have a great Saturday everyone
