Soft swell on a sunny morning

Hello Friends,

Made the Manly run this morning and stopped for a look at Freshie on the way home. The wind was just beginning to texture it up, but there were a few soft little waves coming in. Long waits at the north end, a bit bigger and slightly more consistent at the south.

Next stop was Dee Why and the wind was getting into it more. We were supposed to have NW wind today, but it was more NNE-NE and picking up when I checked.

Long Reef was producing a few little waves on the inside and there were folks at the Pole getting pretty soft looking peaks that appeared to fade out after a short distance…

Dee Why was a touch bigger than the Longy end but just as soft and fat looking (we had a 1.78 m high tide at 0930). I saw a couple waves at the point that looked sort’ve plausible, but it tells you all you need to know that no one was out chasing ’em.

From the look of the forecast, our 1.7 m 11-second east swell is set to fade across the day and tomorrow it’s shaping to be marginal, but hopefully still somewhat surfable. We’ll see what the Goat says tomorrow, but from here it would seem that Friday will be smaller again and then Saturday we might get a little south energy injection to bring waves up into the knee to waist range.

The sunny weather should be good for cleaning up whatever pathogen load in the surface water we have going on. Water’s still on 19C and we’re expecting 27C along the beaches under sunny skies.
