Grey and tiny Sunday morning along the beaches

0 59

Hello Friends,
Solid grey skies with the odd passing drizzle patch and a steady north wind as Sunday kicked off. As you can see from the pictures, surf conditions were marginal at best. Catchable waves were in short supply despite the offshore buoys showing 1.7 metres of 8-second ENE swell. Better exposures than Dee Why should be seeing waist to chest high sets.

The good news is that the models are still predicting that the NE swell will intensify over the next couple of days and by Tuesday morning it could be into the 2-3 metre range at better exposures. Plus, the skies should be sunny and the wind offshore…

Go well with your Sunday everyone!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system near New Zealand and a low pressure trough over inland New South Wales are combining to generate fresh north to northeasterly winds along the coast while another coastal trough is bringing a brief southerly change to southern waters today. Meanwhile, a low over the southeast Queensland coast is slowly moving south today, and forecast to reach the Queensland border by tonight or early Monday morning. This low will then head to the southern coastal waters during Monday and Tuesday, possibly bringing stronger winds and hazardous surf conditions.
