Not a day to be inland

0 317

Hello Friends,

Your reporter is at Dubbo this morning and therefore as far from the beach as I’ll get on our little jaunt. Needless to say when I checked the Surfline cam (see screenshot above) at 0815, it was glassy, solidly overhead, consistent – and very busy. I reckon 30 people were in the water.

Definitely not a morning for beginners!

Swell is 3 metres at 13 seconds out of the SSE, so not to be trifled with.

Might try to put up a pic or two from the travels later…

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Tasman sea is leading to light winds in most parts. Another bout of stronger winds are expected into the weekend as a low moves well south of Tasmania pushing a series of fronts and troughs across the coast.

Forecast for Friday until midnight

Northwesterly about 10 knots increasing to 15 to 20 knots in the morning, then becoming westerly in the evening.
Seas
Below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres offshore around midday.

Weather
Cloudy. 60% chance of showers this evening.
Caution
Surf conditions may be more powerful than they appear and are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as crossing bars by boat and rock fishing.
