Weak, tiny and rainy on Tuesday morning

The rain gauge at RealSurf HQ registered 49mm of percipitation since midnight, so it’s no surprise that Beachwatch is warning that pollution is likely from Newport to North Steyne. But, as the pictures show, you’re not missing anything too exciting at the beach this morning. The buoy data was showing 1.7 m of 8 second E wind bump, so waves at Manly in Dee Why were mostly in the waist high range and rather weak looking.
Yesterday the swell models were showing a 3+ metre south pulse arriving on Saturday, but this morning’s data is showing 3+ metres by Friday morning, building to a Saturday morning peak in the 4-6 m range. Yikes! Plus, the prediction is for SW wind during the morning.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough near the northern New South Wales coast is forecast to remain in the vicinity till Wednesday. A low pressure circulation embedded within the trough lingers near northeastern NSW today before strengthening as it moves further south during the week, causing southerly winds to strengthen during the second half of the week. Uncertainty remains about the timing, position and strength of this system.
