Fading swell

0 35

Hello Friends,

At daybreak the wind was WNW 2-3 kts and out at sea the swell was coming from the SE at 2.25 metres at 11-12 seconds. Tide was dropping to the 0.7 m low at 1140. Skies were partly cloudy with the chance of a passing shower at some point, as we head to a high of 25C later. Ocean temp is on 23C, but there has to be a question mark over the water quality again today.

Waves at Dee Why were in the waist to shoulder high range along the beach, and about the same but less consistent at the point. Along the Collaroy to Narrabeen stretch, energy levels were higher, but it tells you something that I couldn’t see anyone in the water from well south of Surfrider Gardens to North Narrabeen.

Outlook is for the swell to continue fading both in size and period across the next few days. It looks as though it might perk up again into the shoulder high range midweek. By then the water quality should have improved too.

Go well everyone and take the N95 for enclosed spaces as it looks like the new variant could blow up. Oh, and if you haven’t already, get boosted asap!
