Happy Christmas and sorry about the waves
Hello Friends,
Classic warm summer day with 15-20 kts of NE wind and a sub-one metre SSE swell at sea. You’ll be doing very well to have caught anything. When I grabbed the snaps a few hours ago, there were a few hopefuls waiting for something. When I checked again at 1430 there weren’t even hopefuls.
Tomorrow we should see a south change in the morning, but there’s not much hope of any appreciable increase in swell and sad to say, right now the rest of the week looks less than promising.
It’s summer, so we know not to expect much.
On the good side, the water’s warming up according to Beachwatch which reports 23C and pollution unlikely this morning.
Catchya again tomorrow!
Weather Situation
A low pressure trough is expected to move across the southern coast late today and reach the Hunter Coast by Sunday, bringing a southerly wind change in the wake. The southerly winds will be strengthening on Sunday and Monday with the trough pushed to the northern coast early new week as a cold front brushes south. Then winds will become east to southeasterly as a strong high pressure system over the Bight slowly moves across the Bass Strait through the first half of the new week.
