Tiny town tiddlers

0 10

Hello Friends,

As expected, swell’s dropped back overnight and yesterday’s occasional shoulder high sets have been replaced by today’s very occasional knee high bumps. Surface conditions were nice and smooth thanks to 10 kts of NNW breeze and out at sea the waverider buoys were detecting just under a metre of 9-second energy from 136°. Skies were clear and likely to stay that way, while water temp is an unwintry 19C. Tide at daybreak was running into a modest 1.3 metre high at 0930. Air was a brrr-risk 9C, but it’ll get to 19C later.

Weather Situation

A complex low pressure system lies east of Bass Strait, and will produce strong to gale force winds at times about the far southern waters today. Winds further away from the low may lift to fresh to strong levels about the Batemans, Illawarra and Hunter coasts. The low is expected to gradually move towards New Zealand during the next few days.
