Surfing proposed as official sport of California
Mavericks fever has swept Californians watching in slack-jaw wonder as waves up to 50 feet high pummel their coastline.
The tide phenomenon coincides with goings-on at the state legislature, where two self-professed "avid surfers" recently co-sponsored a bill to name surfing the official sport of California.
