UFC Vegas 108 adds pair of undefeated prospects to lineup
UFC Vegas 108 has started to fill out its lineup.
The Aug. 2 event, which takes place at UFC APEX in Las Vegas, is now confirmed to be headlined by a flyweight contender bout between Amir Albazi (17-2) and Tatsuro Taira (16-1) after that news was previously reported by MMA Fighting.
Albazi currently sits at No. 7 at 125 pounds in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, one spot ahead of Taira at No. 8.
Several other UFC Vegas 108 bouts were also announced Tuesday, including the return of undefeated middleweight prospect Torrez Finney (11-0), who fights Azamat Bekoev (20-3), as well as a bout between top 10 bantamweight Karol Rosa (18-7) and Nora Cornolle (9-2).
Finney earned a UFC contract in his third appearance on Dana White’s Contender Series, then made a successful octagon debut this past April when he won a split decision over The Ultimate Fighter 32 finalist Robert Valentin. He faces a stiff test in Bekoev, who is 2-0 in the UFC and has won eight straight fights.
Rosa is in need of a win after losing three of her past four bouts, including a unanimous decision loss to Ailin Perez in January. She takes on Cornolle, who looks to move up the rankings after going 3-1 in the UFC so far.
Undefeated flyweight Andre Lima (11-0) is also in action as he seeks his fifth UFC win when he fights Felipe Bunes (14-7).
