Bears Gain Major Advantage for Week 1 Opener Against Titans

The Chicago Bears will kick off their season at home against the Tennessee Titans in about a month. However, first, the Bears need to navigate the preseason without major injuries. Their preseason begins Thursday night against the Houston Texans in the Hall of Fame game. None of the starters will play in this game, and their status in next Saturday’s game against the Buffalo Bills remains uncertain.

Injuries are an unfortunate but inevitable part of training camp across the NFL. The Titans experienced this first hand today when wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins suffered a knee injury during practice. He is expected to be out for 4-6 weeks, according to Paul Kuharsky. The Titans’ season opener is against the Bears on September 8th. If Hopkins misses this game, it would be a significant advantage for the Bears’ defense. Last season, Hopkins recorded 75 receptions for 1,057 yards and 7 touchdowns.
