UFC 303 weigh-in results: Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka 2 official, co-main has weight class changed

Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka are ready to square off again.

At Friday morning’s official weigh-ins for UFC 303, Pereira weighed in at 204.5 pounds for his light heavyweight title defense in Saturday’s main event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Opponent Jiri Prochazka also successfully weighed in at 204.5 pounds.

The bout is a rematch of their UFC 295 encounter in November 2023 that Pereira won by second-round knockout to capture a vacant light heavyweight belt. Pereira and Prochazka were expected to fight again after both were victorious at UFC 300, but the timing of their second bout was accelerated when they were called upon to compete in the UFC 303 main event. The booking was announced after an injury forced Conor McGregor out of the originally scheduled headliner opposite Michael Chandler.

Prior to the start of the weigh-ins, a co-main event featherweight bout between two-time title challenger Brian Ortega and Diego Lopes was announced as being changed to a lightweight bout. MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck confirmed with sources that it was Ortega who requested the change.

Lopes had already gone through the process of cutting to 145, but agreed to the new weight. According to Ariel Helwani, Lopes will be compensated an undisclosed amount.

Only one fighter failed to beat the scale, featherweight competitor Jean Silva. The Brazilian fighter weighed in at 147.5 pounds, 1.5 pounds over the limit (including a one-pound allowance for a non-title bout), while opponent Charles Jourdain came in at 146 pounds.

The UFC announced that Jourdain vs. Silva will proceed at a catchweight, with Silva forfeiting 20 percent of his purse as penalty.
