Man City boss Pep Guardiola pelted with bottles as he heads down tunnel amid Atletico Madrid chaos
MANCHESTER CITY boss Pep Guardiola was pelted with bottles as he made his way down the tunnel after a chaotic Champions League second leg against Atletico Madrid.
The Premier League champions went into Wednesday’s game with a 1-0 lead.
And in unlikely fashion, they failed to score but didn’t concede – winning the tie 1-0 and booking their place in the semi-finals.
But the game wasn’t without controversy, with Atletico’s Felipe seeing red for kicking out at Phil Foden.
A brawl ensued and in amongst the chaos, City winger Jack Grealish had some words with Stefan Savic, who proceeded to pull the £100million man’s hair.
Savic also leaned his head into Raheem Sterling but somehow escaped further punishment.

And after booking City’s place in the semi-finals of the Champions League, Guardiola came under fire as he made his way down the tunnel to the changing rooms.
Bottles were thrown at the Spaniard.
But the atmosphere wasn’t any better away from the eyes of 68,000 fans inside the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
Tensions flared in the tunnel again between Grealish and Savic.

Atletico defender Sime Vrsalkjo also added fuel to the fire, seemingly lobbing goalkeeper gloves at City players and staff.
Police were forced to intervene.
On the disgusting scenes, BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand said: “Distasteful behaviour from the Atletico players, they should be embarrassed with some of the antics they have gone on with.
“You have to say, talking about football, well done to Atletico Madrid as they made Manchester City play in a way we haven’t seen for a long time, took them out of their rhythm and their stride.
“But some of the stuff towards the end was not what you want to see on a football pitch.”
Guardiola’s men have also picked up key injuries to Kevin de Bruyne and Kyle Walker.
And Guardiola admits his team could be in “big trouble” with an FA Cup semi-final with Liverpool coming up this weekend.
He said: “We are in big trouble. We played three days ago against a tough Liverpool, travel, come here and have a lot of injuries right now.
“I’m not sure what will happen in the next weeks but, yeah we will celebrate at home.
“It’s the third time in Man City history that we are in semi-finals of the Champions League.
“For us, it’s a big success and we are happy to be there.”

City will face Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid in the semi-finals.
They’ll go on to face either Liverpool or Villarreal for the Champions League trophy.
