Bethe Correia has a new date for her retirement.

Multiple people with knowledge of the news confirmed to MMA Fighting that the one-time bantamweight title challenger will face Karol Rosa in a 135-pound contest at an Oct. 2 UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas. Combate first reported the matchup.

Correia (11-5-1) was let go by the UFC after losing to Pannie Kianzad in July 2020, but negotiated a new deal to make her retirement bout against Wu Yanan. An appendicitis surgery forced Correia off that January 2021 card in Abu Dhabi. The bout with Rosa will now serve as the final fight of Correia’s career.

“Pitbull” challenged Ronda Rousey for the 135-pound championship back in 2015, suffering her first defeat after a 9-0 start in the sport. Correia went on to win only two of her next seven bouts, including losses to Holly Holm, Irene Aldana and Raquel Pennington.

Rosa (14-3) has gone 3-0 so far in the UFC with decision victories over Lara Procopio, Vanessa Melo and Joselyne Edwards. A teammate of Jessica Andrade in Brazil, Rosa has had seven UFC bouts cancelled or postponed since joining the company in 2019.

The event will be headlined by a light heavyweight showdown between Thiago Santos and Johnny Walker.
