Warriors’ Kelly Oubre Jr. expected to miss 1-2 more weeks with wrist injury

Warriors guard Kelly Oubre Jr. will miss up to two more weeks with a left wrist injury, a league source confirmed with the Bay Area News Group.

Oubre, who has missed the last four games with a left wrist injury that he re-aggravated during practice late last month, will not require surgery and will be re-evaluated late next week. The Warriors play their regular-season finale against the Grizzlies on May 16.

After missing five straight games with the initial wrist injury he suffered on a dunk attempt in an April 9 loss to the Wizards, Oubre came off the bench for five games. Oubre thrived in the sixth man role and averaged 17 points on 43.9% shooting (30.8% from 3-point range) and 5.4 rebounds.

Oubre, 25, will be an unrestricted free agent after this season. Although he struggled at times to play alongside Stephen Curry in head coach Steve Kerr’s motion offense, he’s a long, athletic wing capable of scoring in bunches and should have several suitors looking for a “3-and-D” perimeter presence.

Over the last 14 games, Kent Bazemore (11 games) and Mychal Mulder (three games) have started at shooting guard. With Oubre sidelined, guard Jordan Poole and forward Juan Toscano-Anderson have anchored the bench unit.
