For the first time this season, the reigning NFC Champions lost a game. This time it wasn’t the Super Bowl, but a 55-40 defeat at home against Tampa Bay. Jared Goff, who ranks third in the NFL in passing yards, threw for 517 yards and two touchdowns, but it was the three costly interceptions that were a difference maker in this game. Robert Woods led the way with 164 yards receiving, while Cooper Kupp, second in the NFL (388 yards) added 121 yards and a touchdown. Todd Gurley was limited to five carries for 16 yards and a pair of scores. The Rams offense is one of the best in the league when it comes to throwing the deep ball and putting up points, but their rushing offense ranks 22nd in the league and will need to improve as the season goes on.

Defensively, the Rams had a tough time containing Jameis Winston who had arguably one of his best offensive games this season. Winston passed for 385 yards and four touchdowns, two of those coming to Chris Godwin, who had 172 yards in the game. The Rams defense had two sacks the whole game and will have to put more pressure on Russell Wilson Thursday night.

After a 33-27 Week 3 loss to the Saints, Seattle responded with a 27-10 win over divisional opponent Arizona. Russell Wilson completed 22 of 28 passes for 240 yards and one touchdown. However, he was sacked four times. Chris Carson picked up his first 100 yard game of the season and should give the Rams rush defense trouble. Carson had 116 yards in Seattle’s, 33-31, loss to the Rams last year. Tight end Will Dissly continues to find the end zone for the Seahawks, scoring his fourth touchdown in three games.

The Seahawks defense limited Kyler Murray to just 241 yards passing and 115 yards on the ground. Bobby Wagner is a tackling beast this year. Wagner picked up 11 tackles to bring his total to 45 on the year, third-most in the NFL. Mychal Kendricks added six tackles and two sacks, while Ezekiel Ansah also brought the pressure with five tackles and a sack. Newcomer Jadeveon Clowney had the team’s lone interception in the game. The key for the Seahawks in this game will be to slow down Jared Goff and the Rams aerial attack.
