Quadruple Amputee and Pro Cornhole Player Accused of Deadly Shooting

A Maryland man is facing murder charges for allegedly shooting and killing someone in his car, authorities said.

Dayton James Webber, 27, is accused of fatally shooting the front seat passenger of his car during an argument in La Plata, Maryland, on Sunday and then fleeing to Virginia, according to the Charles County Sheriff's Office.

The victim, Bradrick Michael Wells, was found dead in a yard in Charlotte Hall, Maryland, according to the sheriff's office. Webber fled to Virginia and was found in Charlottesville.

American Cornhole League

Webber won the Maryland State Championship in cornhole and has competed in the American Cornhole League in nationally televised matches on ESPN.

Audiences have been captivated by his inspiring story since he was a child, when he first garnered national media attention.

Webber had his arms and legs amputated after experiencing a severe blood infection as a baby. He defied stark odds of surviving but he did. Despite his body modifications, growing up with no arms and no legs, he impressed everyone with his tenacity in sports. He learned to wrestle, play sports, and shoot guns, despite not having a full set of arms, hands, legs, or feet.

He is a skilled and avid shooter, as you can see in this video. He wrote an essay in 2023 about becoming a professional athlete. He's been doing adaptive sports his whole life.

He also learned to shoot guns and is an avid and skilled gun shooter.

Webber pulled over and asked the two other passengers to help remove Wells from the car, deputies said, but they refused, left the scene, and flagged down officers with the La Plata Police Department.
