Albany teen charged with attempted murder after shooting
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Albany teenager is facing multiple charges in connection to a shooting on Old Hickory Drive.
The shooting took place on the morning of July 25 on Old Hickory Drive near Shaker Road. Police said two victims were approached by two other people, which led to a physical fight.
During the fight, police said a 17-year old hit one of the victims in the head with a handgun. As the victims tried to leave, the 17-year old fired multiple rounds from a gun and struck the victims' car.
The teen who fired the gun was arrested Wednesday morning. He was charged with two counts of attempted murder, one count of criminal use of a firearm and one count of assault. His identity is not being released due to his age.
He was arraigned in family court and sent to the Capital District Juvenile Secure Detention Facility.
