Albany PD investigate shooting incident near Madison Avenue
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The Albany Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened near Madison Avenue and Trinity Place Thursday night. According to officers, a 22-year-old was found with a gunshot wound to her chest.
Around 11:20 p.m., officers responded to the area of Church Street and Fourth Avenue for reports of a person with a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, they found the victim, and later determined she was shot while sitting in a car.
The victim was treated on scene by emergency medical services before being transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to police, an investigation into the shooting remains open and ongoing. Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to contact the Albany Police Detective Division at (518) 462-8039 or submit an online anonymous tip.
