MALTA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The New York State Police has identified the troopers involved in the shooting at the Ellsworth Apartments in Malta. Brandon Moore, 37, was fatally shot during the April 10 incident.

NYSP said Moore had barricaded himself in his apartment after law enforcement responded to the apartment complex for reports of a physical domestic dispute. Moore reportedly came out of the apartment with what appeared to be a handgun and troopers told him to drop it.

Instead, Moore pointed the weapon at the troopers and deputies. That’s when they fatally shot Moore. Gilroy said Moore’s weapon was a CO2 powered BB pistol, which was loaded.

The troopers have been identified as Stephen Musci, Michael Lenaghen, Cameron Missenis, and Richard Ahigian. NYSP said Sergeant Station Commander Musci has been a member of the State Police for more than 10 years and is assigned to Troop G in Saratoga. Investigator Lenaghen has been a member of the State Police for more than 12 years and is assigned to Troop G in Clifton Park.

Investigator Missenis has been a member of the State Police for more than 3 years and is assigned to Troop G in Clifton Park. Trooper Ahigian has been a member of the State Police since October 2023 and is assigned to Troop G in Saratoga.

All the troopers are on voluntary leave. State Police also said the involved members from the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office Deputy were Sheriff Ramon Rodriguez Jr. and Deputy Sheriff Clayton Wren.

Deputy Sheriff Rodriguez has been a member of the Sheriff's Office for more than 6 years and Deputy Sheriff Wren has been a member of the Sheriff's Office since December 2024 after transferring to the Sheriff's Office from another police agency. Both deputies are on voluntary leave.

The New York State Attorney’s General’s Office confirmed on Monday that they are investigating the incident, as per state law. Another shooting in Malta happened the day before at the NYSP Malta Barracks. David Levine, 69, of Malta, was fatally shot during the April 9 incident.
