Two people injured in Duson shooting; arrests made
DUSON, La. (KLFY) -- Duson Police said two people were injured after a shooting Saturday morning on First Street.
Deputies said they were called to the 800 block of First Street around 3 a.m. Saturday morning. Officials said they were told over a dozen rounds of gunshots were fired.
Sergeant Calvin Francis, who was on the scene said upon arriving, officers located a woman and a man, both with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
"Officers responded with the assistance of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office and discovered a female subject on scene suffering from a minor gunshot wound to the hand," said Francis.
"While on scene officers were advised there was a second subject injured that was at the Scott emergency room, additional officers responded to that location and discovered that subject had suffered from a gunshot wound to the upper leg area of his body," said Francis.
18-year-old Marcelle Boutin and 20-year-old Preston Nation have been arrested in connection to the shooting. Boutin was charged with principal to attempted second-degree murder, while Nation was charged with attempted second-degree murder.
Boutin and Nation have both been booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail, with bonds set at $250,000.
Francis said more arrests are possible.
