5 arrested for allegedly aiding fugitive accused of shooting St. Johnsbury Police Captain
ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (NEWS10) -- Five people have been arrested and accused of aiding the suspect, Scott Mason, 38, following the shooting of St. Johnsbury Police Department Captain Jason Gray, per Vermont State Police. All five arrestees are from St. Johnsbury, Vermont.
Patrice Mason, 36, faces more charges than the rest. She is charged with accessory aiding in the commission of a felony and negligent storage of firearms resulting in serious bodily injury.
Jonathan Russell, 45, Tisa Russell, 45, William Drew, 44, and Amber Labrecque, 35, were all charged with accessory after the fact. Mason and J. Russell were placed in the Northeast Correctional Complex and the rest were released on a citation.
Everyone except Labrecque will be arraigned on Tuesday. Labrecque will be arraigned on February 10.
The Vermont State Police said that the investigation is ongoing and another arrest is expected to be made.
