Pittsfield Police make arrest in Bradford Street shooting

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (NEWS10) -- The Pittsfield Police Department (PPD) arrested Deakan Sayers, 18, on June 28. Police say Sayers was found to be connected to a shooting near North Street at Bradford Street.
Charges
- Two counts of armed assault with the intent to murder
- Two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon
- Carrying a loaded firearm without a license
- Discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling
PPD responded to the area of the shooting on June 14 just after 5 p.m. and reported finding two Pittsfield men with gunshot wounds. They were treated at Berkshire Medical Center and released.
Police say their investigation led to gaining probable cause to arrest Sayers. He was transported to Pittsfield District Court for his arraignment on July 1. Police ask anyone with information on the case to call (413) 448-9705.
