Arrest made in Poughkeepsie shooting investigation

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department (CPPD) reported that an arrest has been made in connection to a shooting that took place on June 8. Lorenzo Jackson, 26, is facing multiple charges.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired around 11:44 a.m. near Main and North White Streets. Police later learned that a 22-year-old man had been brought to a nearby hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm.

Jackson was identified as a suspect during the ensuing investigation and he was taken into custody without incident on June 13. He now faces the following charges:

  • Two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Criminal use of a firearm
  • First-degree reckless endangerment

Jackson was processed at CPPD headquarters and was held while awaiting arraignment.
