[Men's Basketball] Men's Basketball Gets Back on Track With Win Over STLCOP

SAINT LOUIS, MO- After back-to-back losses to ranked teams, the Hornets were in search for a win to get them back on track. They got just that with their 95-71 win over the Eutectics of Saint Louis College of Pharmacy.

Harris-Stowe had quite the stat sheet tonight as five Hornet players reached double figures; Deandre Clark (SR/Orange, VA) led the team with 22 points on 8-12 shooting, Christian Wimbley (SR/St. Louis, MO) racked up 29 points and seven rebounds and went 6-7 from the charity stripe, Nate Rigmaiden (SR/St. Louis, MO) collected 18 points while Duane Clark (JR/Saint Louis, MO) had 12 points in the paint and three blocks tonight. The final double-digit scorer was Riley Barnes (FR/Belleville, IL) who got his first start of the season and scored 10 points in 27 minutes of play.

Darius Dorsey led the Eutectics offense with 19 points and three steals. RJ Wright (18) Thomas Pritz (10) were the other STLCOP players to reach double figures.

HSSU began the game with a 9-0 run that would force the Eutectics to call a timeout just five minutes into play. The Hornets would push their lead to as much as 19 in the opening half before taking a commanding 42-26 lead going into the break.

STLCOP wasn't going to go away that easy; they went on an 18-4 run in the first four minutes of play to get within two of Harris-Stowe.  Lay-up from Prtiza with 13:26 left would give the Eutectics their first lead of the game.

Harris-Stowe would answer with an 11-0 run mid-way through the half to make it 73-61. From there, they would outscore College of Pharmacy 22-10 to take the 95-71 win.

HSSU finished the game shooting 51% from the field and 36% from long range. They dished out 16 assists and recorded a season high eight blocks.

The Hornets (6-2; 2-2 AMC) will be back in action next Saturday in an exhibition game against Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
