[Golf] Golf Teams Close Out Fall Season

LAURINBURG, NC — The St. Andrews University men and women's golf teams closed its fall season after hosting the St. Andrews Knights Invitational at Scotch Meadows Country Club in Laurinburg, NC.
 
The SAU Men's team shot a two-round 642 (325-317) at the par-72, 6527-yard Scotch Meadows course. Methodist "B" team won the 5-team men's tournament, shooting a 33-over-par 609. The Monarchs' Jacob Lowe and Sam Marshall gained individual medalist honors, with Lowe finishing 1st out of 24 participants and Marshall following right behind in second place. Sandhills Community College's Thomas Storbeck was able to capture third place.
 
Knights senior Alberto Firpi (SR/Puerto Rico) finished on top for St.Andrews finishing 7th, shooting a 153 (76-77), while sophomore Yusuke Niwa (SO/Nagoya, Japan) tied for 8th shooting a 155 (80-75).
 

The St. Andrews Women's Team was represented individually by Senior Devon Omar (SR/Grovetown, GA) who shot a two-round 168 (87-81). Omar was able to secure the second place win after being topped by Sandhills Community College's Shirley Ou who shot for a total of 154.
