[Men's Golf] Tigers finish fourth at MSC

0

Georgetown College men's golf had all four scorers finish in the Top 15 of a three-day, water logged Mid-South Conference Championship in Bowling Green, Ky. The Tigers as a team shot an 899 for fourth place, 16 shots back from first place Cumberland University.

Kaleb Lester led the charge with a fourth place finish, shooting 217 for 54 holes. Conor Taylor tied for eighth with an amazing charge on day three. He shot three under par 69 to finish with 225 for the tournament. Patrick Oakley, who was honored Tuesday night as one of three men's golfers on the MSC All-Academic list, finished 13th with a 228.

"It is crazy to think that Patrick's worst day was the split round," said GC coach Austin Sparks. "He shot eight over par when we had to play only nine holes Monday due to rain. He finished that up Tuesday morning. Then buckled down Tuesday afternoon and shot three under par over the next 18 holes to put him back in the hunt for a solid finish."
